"In each of our four care homes in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, we are dedicated to providing our residents with a true home environment, even if they require highly dependent dementia care."

Our care standards

Traditional care for people with dementia tended to focus on the illness and respond to symptoms. Person-centred care is about responding to the individual and supporting what they can do, building on the strengths and finding ways to compensate for the losses brought about by their illness.

At St Andrews Care Homes we focus on person-centred care, ensuring our aims and objectives are based on recognised best practice, recommended by the Alzheimer’s Society and the research findings of specialists in the field such as Professor Tom Kitwood and Professor Dawn Booker.

All staff employed at our four care homes will be appropriately qualified or undergoing suitable training. This ensures that we continue to maintain the high standards of professional person-centred dementia care on which our excellent reputation, amongst the local community and health and social care professionals, is based. We continue to monitor and implement the latest developments in Care Practices as stipulated in legislation and regulations by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
