St Andrews Care Homes are all excellent - and that's official

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated as excellent all four care homes owned and managed by St Andrew's Care Homes Ltd

The four homes - two in Bedford, one in Wilstead and one in Olney - all specialise in dementia care, and each received an unannounced visit by inspectors from the CQC last year. The inspection found that all the homes offered clean, comfortable and well-maintained environments where residents were encouraged and supported to lead as fulfilling and enriching a life as possible.

The owner and Managing Director of St Andrew's Care Homes Ltd, Chris Ryan, said:

"I am delighted for our staff, our residents and their families that these latest inspections have independently confirmed that all four care homes have a three star excellent rating. Everyone at St Andrew's Care Homes works hard to achieve and maintain high standards, so we're delighted to receive the highest possible rating for all four homes.

"Choosing a care home can seem a daunting prospect for many people - and especially so if it is for a family member with dementia. It was particularly satisfying for all our staff that the inspectors all noted the extra efforts we make to give our residents opportunities to continue leading a full and active life, as well as how we encourage residents and their families to play a full part in determining their care."
