Welcome to DanecroftLocated in the mid-Bedfordshire village of Wilstead, Danecroft provides a mixture of specialist dementia care for the elderly, as well as residential care. It will soon form part of the Wixams development, which is transforming a 750 acre brownfield site into four garden villages, a town centre, schools and community facilities. Previously two 1930s bungalows, Danecroft has been converted into a single horseshoe shaped building around a central courtyard. There are two bright, well-furnished lounge areas, one with a piano, and a separate dining room for residents and visitors to enjoy. Care Quality Commission (CQC) Quality Rating Excellent (3 stars) “When we last inspected this service in July 2008 people told us about the difference in the way that they receive care and support since the home had changed ownership (to St Andrew's Care Homes). This is still the same. People feel that staff are encouraged to sit and spend time talking with them which they say did not happen before and this has helped them to develop good relationships with the staff team.” Date of last inspection: 20 April 2009 Click here to download the full CQC Inspection Report for St Andrew’s |
